Sunday Breakfast

Isaac, my boyfriend, has been wanting "Eggy in a Basket" and so this morning we went to pick up some fresh eggs, home-made bread from a local bakery and thick cut bacon. I don't eat eggs so I've never made one in my life, not even kidding. I had to ask my breakfast community on LJ, Of Mornings, if they could please give me some tips. Everything came out perfectly and they were really fun to make. I, of course, didn't eat them but I did make some for Isaac, my dad and my grandfather. I also made the bacon and Isaac made really yummy basil potatoes. Everything looked really pretty.

ok so i tried this, this morning. and i don't know but are you suppose to flip it after one side of the egg is cooked or, is it safe to eat the yolk as is so long as the egg white's cooked? i flipped it and what a mess! lol

@Kristine No, you aren't supposed to flip them. It's supposed to be a sunny side up egg inside the toast. From what my family said, because I don't actually eat eggs, is that it's basically for people who like their eggs runny because that's how it cooks. You just leave it there, don't flip it, until it cooks.

I've been a part of your group for a while now. I should post more often. It's one of my favorite communities on LJ, and grateful I stumbled upon your personal blog.

For reasons I've never understood, we call this Toad in the Hole. I am a Girl Guide leader and we cook it on camp. For some kids, it's the first thing they've ever cooked. Such a thrill to see how excited they are about cooking and eating something they've made.
Your blog is beautiful. I've come to it via Slow Readers. How are you enjoying the latest book. I'm almost done. I just want to keep reading ... questions are to be answered, I hope.
