The Delicious Miss Dahl

Sophie Dahl's fiction books, Playing with the Grown-Ups and The Man With The Dancing Eyes have been on my to-read list for quite some time now. The other day I happened across her new cookbook, Miss Dahl's Voluptuous Delights, which I now want very badly and also, on the same day, I found out she had a six part cooking series on the BBC called "The Delicious Miss Dahl". I was able to watch the episode and was instantly charmed with her, her food, her kitchen and the show. It is so so so lovely. It's beautifully filmed, has ammmmmmazing music and it feels like you are watching an old friend. She's so very inspiring. I was only going to take a few screencaps to post along with this entry but the whole episode was so beautiful I ended up taking sixty or so all of which can be found on my Flickr in their own little set.

In this eppy she made an Arnold Bennett omelette, Peanut Butter Fudge, buffalo mozzarella bruschetta with shaved fennel and courgette, a dirty martini, roasted halibut with spinach and watercress sauce, healthy sweet potato chips and wild mushrooms and ended with rich chocolate pots with brandy-soaked cherries. You can find the recipes here.

Hi, we don't have this show in Finland (obviously) but as I really like Sophie Dahl as a character and I like her writings and this looks so sweet, do you mind if I use these pictures in my own blog? I will - of course - credit you.

@Tammy I first heard of her only because of the fiction books she's written. I read "The Man With The Dancing Eyes" last night. Then I found out about her book and show. It wasn't until after that I found out she was a model, I believe it, she's so pretty!

@Jennifer Nigella is amazing, as well!

@Elina I don't mind at all! Thank you so much for asking.

She's just gorgeous in every way, isn't she? And I love everything about this show - her kitchen is just lovely, and the recipes are so do-able too.
